TCM for Gout.一例痛风患者的诊治

12^th Aug 2008 attended TCM for the first time; 48 years old Male.

Chief complaint: The pain of the left digiti pedis for one month.

He complained of being the pain of the left digiti pedis for one month. He received the treatment of the Aga Khan hospital. It was diagnosed gout. After had received some treatments, he didn’t feel better. So he opted for TCM. Fear cold and likes taking heat drinks. Have a back pain sometimes. His appetite and sleep was normal. His urine and stool was normol.

Physical examination: There was a haphalgesia on the left digiti pedis.

TCM examination: Tongue: red and white coated tongue.

Pulse: Chenxian （like sinking and slide）

Laboratory examination: (UA)Uric acid 611mmol/L，(200～500)↑ (high);

Diagnosis: Gout

TCM diagnosis: renal deficiency and blood stasis

Therapy: warming the kidney and invigorate the spleen ; benefiting vital energy and promoting blood flow

Prescription: (1)Simiaoyongan Tang

14 doses, take orally twice a day.

（2）Waixihuoxue Fang

14 doses , take washout, once a day, more than 30 minutes a time.

Advice for the patient：prohibit to beer, sea food and mutton.

26th Aug 2008 second visit.

After taking the above medicine, she started feeling batter than before. He can walk without walking stick.

Tongue: still had coated tongue and Pulse was the same as last time.

Prescription: continue last medicine.

9th Sep 2008 third visit.

After taking the above medicine, she started feeling batter than before. And the UA became to normal.
