肌肉骨骼系统再生科技是最有效的对抗机体衰老和损伤的策略和方法
4月22-23日,第四届肌肉骨骼系统再生研究国际名校联席会议Musculoskeletal Regeneration Research Network Symposium(MRN)在杭州顺利召开。
该会议是国际名校肌肉骨骼系统再生研究高峰论坛,由香港中文大学Kai-Ming Chan教授倡导,先后在香港和欧美召开。这是首次在中国内地举办,并被分享到丁香园进行实时网络直播。
本次国际盛会汇聚20多所国内外名校及骨科研究协会,包括瑞士AO国际骨科研究院、美国匹兹堡大学、斯坦福大学、香港中文大学、香港大学、上海交通大学、新加坡国立大学、澳大利亚西澳大学等众多领域顶尖学者及其团队。论坛报告分四个方面展开:骨、肌腱韧带、软骨再生医学和技术创新,以及肌肉骨骼系统再生的管理与挑战。
美国两院院士、匹兹堡大学 Savio LY WOO教授、南通大学顾晓松院士、瑞士AO国际骨科研究院Geoff Richards教授等与会者通过口头报告、研讨会及参观杭州经济技术开发区生物医药平台等方式,交流和探讨肌肉骨骼系统再生研究领域的关键科学问题、新技术转化与应用以及国际合作路径,促进并加强国际名校间前沿学科的交叉渗透。

本次大会执行主席浙江大学欧阳宏伟教授主持了开幕仪式。开幕式上,欧阳教授介绍了MRN的历史、现状和下一届会议举办方,并呈现了浙江大学肌肉骨骼系统再生基础研究与转化的最新成果。欧阳教授与共同执行主席秦岭教授一起为MRN发起人Kai-Ming Chan教授颁发了“MRN终身成就奖”。

之后,Kai-Ming Chan教授介绍了MRN的成立过程、宗旨和任务,鼓励国际合作,并宣布下一届MRN将在丹麦召开。南丹麦大学Ding Ming教授进一步介绍了2019 MRN的准备情况和丹麦童话之城。浙江大学欧阳宏伟教授做了会议总结:2018MRN会议非常成功,吸引了更多的国际名校伙伴,对肌肉骨骼系统再生新科技和未来方向形成了更清晰的共识和合作。
4th Musculoskeletal Regeneration Research Network (MRN) Symposium was successfully held in Hangzhou
4th Musculoskeletal Regeneration Research Network (MRN) Symposium on the theme of “Innovation in musculo-skeletal Regeneration” held in April 22-23, 2018 at Hongzhou, China. The chair of the MRN Symposium is Prof. Hongwei Ouyang, Vice Dean of international Campus and School of Medicine, Zhejiang University. The co-chair and honorary chair are Prof. Ling Qin and Prof. Kai-Ming Chan from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. The symposium brought together more than 20 universities worldwide, including The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Stanford University, AO research Institute Davos, Zhejiang University and so on.
April 22nd, the conference opened with welcoming remarks from Prof. Hongwei Ouyang. “MRN Lifetime Achievement Award” was honored to Prof. Kai-Ming Chan for his outstanding leadership and valuable contribution to MRN. Three keynote lectures of “Novel methods for ACL healing and regeneration”, “Innovation and transformation of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine” and “AO patent strategy and development incubator” are from Prof. Savio LY Woo, University of Pittsburgh, Prof. Xiaosong Gu, Nantong University and Prof. R.Geoff Richards, AO research Institute Davos. “To be the different fish—the only blue fish among a group of red ones”, Prof. Woo shared the words with the scientists.
Wonderful works were presented by more than 20 professors world-wide on innovations in regenerative medicine and technology of bone, muscle-tendon-ligament and cartilage, including novel biomaterials, genetically engineered cells, 3D bioprinting, miRNA regulation, classification of disease. Regulatory issues in musculoskeletal regeneration were also discussed. Safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness were pointed as the key issues during the translation to the clinic.
April 23rd, the theme of this session is about update of collaborative research projects by existing MRN members and patented projects/industrial collaboration. The existing collaborative projects, including CHUK-SIAT-SJU-AO, CUHK-SDU and KI-CHUK-TMU&&UU-CUHK, exhibit fruitful networking and joint ventures in research projects. Joint application of research grants, exchange of professors and students, leading scientific publications, as well as friendship have been achieved in the past years.
MRN opportunity in Grand Bay Area Guangdong, Hongkong and Macao was introduced by Prof. Ling Qin. MRN opportunity in Hangzhou: Economic development zone & Hangzhou future Sci-Tech city (HEDA) was introduced by Mr. Yu. Prof. Goodman from Stanford University is looking for the solution about the problem of high cost of large animal studies, which is very important step before translation to practice. “The collaboration between HEDA of Hangzhou and Stanford University may solve the problem.” Prof. Ouyang suggested. The symposium ends up with the tour to the HEDA park, which provide the potential opportunity for the translational research output to produce for the clinical market. MRN is the best opportunity to widen your networking, to achieve translation to practice and to advance musculo-skeletal regeneration technology, and you are most welcome to join MRN 2019 in Denmark.
